Allen, (949)360-3190 The Immigration and Naturalization Service, Administrative Center, Laguna Nieguel, CA intends to award a commercial item, fixed price, supply contract, fixed price, to include a base year and four one-year options (if exercised)for the U.S. Border Patrol, for the supply and delivery, F.O.B. destination, of galvanized expanded metal lath, security clamps and straps, as manufactured by Alabama Metals (AMICO), Brand Name or Equal. Supplies are for the construction of security fencing (Phase II) in the vicinity of the U.S./Mexico International Border, San Diego, CA 92173 (Otay Mesa Area). The fencing shall match Phase I of this project. Description of Supplies: (Salient physical, functional, or performance charactristics, the equal item must meet these charactristics.) Security Fence Fabric (Lower Section): High Density Expanded Metal, .50-.090 Modified, ASTM A 569, Carbon Steel, hot-dipped galvanized, with a minimum coating weight of 610 grams (2.0 onces) of zinc per square meter (foot) of coated surface.Fabric shall be a minimum 2.95 lbs/sf after hot-dip galvanized per ASTM F 1267 for Type I. Class 2, Grade A minimum coating thickness. Fence fabric shall contain a maximum carbon content of 15% resulting in a typical tensile strength of 62,000/72,000 PSI and a typical curve of the fence posts when used above 8'-0". Diamond Pattern to meet the following: (1) Diamond Pattern Short Way, .254; (2) Diamond Pattern Long Way, .083; (3) Strand Thickness .090; (4) Strand Width, .188. Open Area 25-30%. Security Fence Fabric (Mid and Upper Section) Standard Expanded Metal, .50-.092 R ASTM A 569, Carbon Steel, hot-dipped galvanized, with a minimum coating weight of 610 grams (2.0 ounces) of zinc per square meter (foot) of coated surface. Fabric shall be minimum of 1.7 lbs/sf after hot-dip galvanized per ASTM F 1267 for Type I, Class 2, Grade A minimum coating thickness. Fence fabric shall contain a maximum carbon content of 15%, resulting in a typical tensile strength of 62,000/72,000 PSI and a typical yield point of 48,000 PSI. Panels shall be preformed to the required angle to match angle of the fence posts. Diamond pattern to meet the following: (1) Diamond Pattern Short Way, .313; (2) Diamond Pattern Long Way, .938; (3) Strand Thickness .092; (4) Strand Width, .096. Accessories: ASTM F 626. Ferrous accessories shall be zinc or aluminum coated. Miscellaneous hardware coatings shall conform to ASTM A 153. Supplies will be ordered per delivery order throughtout the base period of the contract and options if exercised. Thsese supplies will be used for construction of Phase II (by the Government) and repairs plus maintenance of Phase I. This is a 100% small business set-aside. The small business size standard is 500. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) is 5039 Construction Material, Not Elsewhere Classified. All responsible sources may submit a written quotation consisting of two Parts: Part One -- Pricing conten, Part Two -- Technical Capability, Past Performance and Key Personnel, which shall be considered. Offerors are to provide a sample with their quotation if offering other than Brand Name items; one 12-inch square of the Lath and one each of the attaching Hardware.
