B -- DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW GENERATION EXPEDITIONARY AIRFIELD INJECTION ANCHOR SYS. SOL N68335-00-Q-0144 POC Amy Hayward, Code 25222AH, PH: 732-323-2921 The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with EcoGeosystems Inc., located in Venetia, PA, a geotechnical contractor on a Sole Source basis for Engineering and Technical Services for the development of a new generation Expeditionary Airfield (EAF) Injection Anchor System (IAS), which will provide expeditionary anchoring capabilities for a variety of EAF Systems. This will include the design of all materials and equipment, and associated logistics of the system. Expeditionary Airfield Injection Anchor System specification NAWCADLKE-MISC-48J200-0008, which contains Technical Data whose Export is restricted by the Arms Export Control Act, defines the requirement that the system will need to fulfill. EcoGeosystems possesses a unique expertise in the development and application of specialized techniques used in ground engineering and structural repair, including reticulation of prestressed soil anchors. EcoGeosystems has particular expertise in the geotechnical fields of drilling, grouting, anchoring, in situ reinforcing, and micropiling. The anchoring system consists of all materials including anchor rods, drill bits, and grout with connection members and associated hardware for all potential anchoring scenarios, as well as all equipment necessary to install and operate the system. The term Expeditionary Airfield Systems (EAF) defines a series of subsystems that make up an Expeditionary Airfield. These subsystems include four unique areas that require surface or subsurface anchoring to remain operative and are as follows: M21 Expeditionary Aircraft Recovery System, M31 Expeditionary Arresting Gear System, High Power Run-Up Anchor System, and AM2 Mat Airfield Surfacing System. All four (4) of these anchoring subsystems shall be designed to be as similar as possible to each other with respect to material components, equipment, installation, and all other operational parameters. The Injection Anchoring System shall be capable of securing EAF Systems to a variety of surfaces and subsurfaces including the following: Surface Courses: Concrete and Asphalt, Cohesive Soils: Clays, Silts, and Combinations, Non-Cohesive Soils: Silts, Sands, Gravels and Combinations, Special Soils: Rock, Coral, Caliche, Rubble, Cobbles, and Frozen ground. This anchoring system will be subjected to static and dynamic loads imparted from a variety of rotary and fixed wing aircraft.
