The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC) announces its intent to offer education contracting to small business concerns. This initiative is exclusively set aside for small business concerns with special focus on small business concerns with little or no government contracting experience with an intent to provide a learning opportunity into government contracting. The goal is to provide contractors with the opportunity to gain past performance history, access to the Defense Technical Information Center, security clearances, etc. While the primary targets are those with no government contracting experience or those with only government subcontracting experience, other small business concerns will not be excluded. In order to facilitate this learning experience, USASMDC plans to enter into firm-fixed price type contract(s) priced between $1,000 -- $5,000 for effort which can be valued as much as between $25,000 -- $50,000.
