Selden, Contract Specialist, 301/415-7907/301/415-8157 (fax) The Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation (NRR) a major program office of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is responsible for the licensing and regulatory oversight of nuclear power reactors and non-power research reactors in the civilian sector. NRR's Division of Systems Safety and Analysis (DSSA) is responsible for performing systems-related safety evaluations of licensee implementation of NRC requirements, changes to existing licenses, and applications for new facilities or designs. It provides technical support and expertise for special projects, programs and policy activities. It is the lead for implementation of risk informed regulation. The DSSA performs and evaluates probabilistic safety assessments for nuclear power plants and evaluates design basis accidents (DBA) and severe accident issues as they relate to advanced plant designs and current generation plants. It also performs dose assessments and calculations to verify licensee compliance with 10CFR Part 100, offsite dose limits. The objective of this contract is to obtain expert technical assistance to assist DSSA in a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines, in accomplishing its work related activities aimed at ensuring the overall safety and adequacy of nuclear power plant design, construction, operations, maintenance, and inspection. The period of performance is a base period of three years, and includes 2 one-year option periods. A cost plus fixed-fee task ordering type contract is anticipated. The Standard Industrial Classification code for the services required is 8711. This proposed procurement is under a 100 percent small business set-aside. The small business size standard is annual receipts for the preceding three fiscal years not-to-exceed $4.0M. These services are currently being performed by Information Systems Laboratories, Inc. under NRC contract number NRC-03-95-026.
