NAVICP-Mechanicsburg plans to establish a firm fixed price(FFP)
Performance Based Logistics (PBL) contract with Ball Aerospace,
Broomfield, CO, CAGE Code 0ESR2, covering repair and replacement spares
for the MK-86 GFCS, Camera, Television, All Light Level, MK 20 Mod0.
Presently, it is anticipated that the complete camera and various
repairable assemblies within the camera will be covered by this PBL.
Ball shall function as the Government=s Commercial Stock Point for
these spares in support of domestic requirements including the
performance of all routine inventory management functions including
receiving, shipping, tracking, warehousing, reporting and scheduling.
The goal is to improve the availability and reliability for the above
cited weapon systems while simultaneously reducing overall support
costs. The Navy's individual requirements as outlined above shall be
separately clinned and priced. Full PBL support shall cover a five year
base period. An additional five one-year award term options may be
exercised. The projected milestones are: Finalize Statement of Work
-mid-June 00 ALPHA Contracting/Negotiation -- Jun thru Jul 00
Audit/Pricing Report -mid-Aug 00 (dependent upon ALPHA contracting
relationship) Government Business Case/Cost Benefit Analysis -- late
