AND ANSWERS There are two sets of questions and answers below: 1) Does
the VAFB Fire Dept require the system to be UL listed and is there a
guideline for installation? YES, the system must be UL listed and the
guideline will be a proper upgrade and operation of the existing
Radionics system 2) What is, if any, the Government Furnished
Equipment? NONE 3) Please describe the operational procedures and
objectives of the system? To properly upgrade and operate the existing
Radionics system. 4) Does the VAFB Fire Dept require the system to
provide supervised interface with the Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACP)
in the field? YES. 5) Shall the installers of the system be NICET
certified? NO, not required. 6) The VAFB Fire Dept Command Center
currently has graphic capabilities. Will this equipment be used?
Upgrade the existing system and enhance as necessary to provide a
cost-reduced enhanced operational system. 7) Shall the system be
integrated into Siemens Cerberus Division CXL Command Center? NO, not
at the current time. //////////////// 1) Please expand on phone system?
The phone system is owned and operated by the 30th Communications
Squadron on VAFB. There is no vendor that owns the system. 2) Please
expand on the alarm system in place? The alarm system is a Radionics
system of several models (8124, 9124, 10024, etc). It uses a physical
connection and covers the entire base and some external areas to the
base. The alarm company is not willing to have a third party interface,
and VAFB is not interested in a False Alarm Tracking System nor a
in-vehicle mapping system. Some questions may have been left out if
they did not apply to this Posted 05/22/00 (D-SN457499). (0143) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0037 20000524\D-0006.SOL)
