This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) document subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation Number F25600-00-R9031 is issued as a request for quotation. The solicitation number is required to be on quotes submitted. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-16. The standard industrial classification and small business size standard are: SIC 7699; Size Standard: $5.0M. The government intends to issue a single purchase order for the work. Services to be performed: The Government will remove the top half of jacket water cooling shell from engine. The contractor will remove the remaining bolts, flanges, couplings, adapters, and hardware so as to remove the manifold from engine. All expansion joints shall be replaced. The turbocharger-mounting flange shall be inspected for condition and mating surface adaptability and repair or replace as needed. Upon successful completion of repairs, the contractor will reinstall manifold to engine using new gaskets at cylinder heads and turbocharger. Contractor shall remain on site until user reinstalls top half of jacket water cooling shell and the user operationally tests unit. The contractor must give not less than 24 hours notice of arrival. The provisions at FAR 52.212-1, Instructions to Offerors, Commercial, applies to this acquisition. The provision at FAR 52.212-2, Evaluation Commercial Items, applies to this acquisition. Evaluation will be based on best value to the government including past performance, cost and ability to meet requirements. Offerors shall include a completed copy of the provision at FAR 52.212-3.
