The U. S. Naval Observatory has a requirement for a follow-on contract for the operation of VLBI Correlator Facility as well as the publication of the Time Services Announcements for a period of performance of a base year and four one year options. The contractor will be responsible for the daily operation of the facility 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The facility is located on the grounds of the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. The Time Service Announcements are published on a weekly, monthly, semi-annual, annual and on an as needed basis. This will be a Firm Fixed Price type contract awarded to the lowest cost, technically acceptable, responsible offeror. Service is anticipated to begin in 01 October 2000. The SIC code for this requirement is 7374. The specific services are described in the Statement of Work will be included in the solicitation . The anticipated release date of the solicitation is 11 July 2000.
