This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). USCG ELC plans to issue a Request for Quotation No. DTCG40-00-Q-50100 to purchase these items from Megapulse, Inc., 101 Billerica Avenue, 4 Billerica Business Center, N. Billerica, MA 01862, or authorized distributor, unless additional sources are located. This action is being taken under the authority of 10 U.S. Code 2304 (c)(1) and in accordance with FAR 6-302-1, for acquisition of supplies from only one source when no other supplies will satisfy agency requirements. Megapulse, Inc. is the recommended source for the following reasons: (1) The Power Supply Upgrade Kits contain unique mounting hardware and brackets that are custom made for this application only. (2) These PATCO power supply upgrade kits are intended to replace the original Lambda LXS-CC-6R and LCD-4-22 (Dual Rate) DC power supplies with modern equivalents. (3) The TOPCO power supply upgrade kits are intended to replace the original LXS-A-5-OV-R and LXS-A-15-R DC power supplies with modern equivalents. The Government intends to acquire a modified commercial item using FAR Part 12.
