This requirement is for the purchase of 2 each Part Task Trainers (PTT) and 1 each Fault Insertion Device (FID) to be developed by Lockheed Martin, Owego NY to fulfill Baseline 6 Phase 3 AEGIS Training and Readiness Center (ATRC) maintenance training requirements. The training equipment will be used to support training of AEGIS Computer Network Technicians for circuit card removal and replacement within the EPS OA-9482(V)2 cabinet. The PTT will provide sailors experience with the EPS OA-9482(V)2 without the risk of students possibly damaging the EPS cabinet. The FID will allow ATRC instructors to insert faults into the EPS cabinet and to pre-fault the EPS cabinet to facilitate troubleshooting and have the students resolve problems. The PTT and FID will support DDG 85 -- DDG 90 ships. The PTTs and FID will provide maintenance training while simultaneously allowing operational training on the tactical EPS cabinet. As the sole-source developer of the EPS OA-9482(V)2 cabinets, Lockheed Martin is the only contractor that has the knowledge and expertise to develop the required training equipment that will prevent damage and ensure longevity of the ATRC tactical EPS cabinets. Additionally, only Lockheed Martin can meet the government's required delivery date of November 2000. The solicitation is anticipated to be issued on 31 May 2000. Award is anticipated to be made by 30 June 2000. Interested parties other than Lockheed Martin must be able to demonstrate, in writing, their capability to provide the requested services.
