NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Sono Flux System for Research and Testing, to include the following: ITEM 1: SONOFLUX 9500S STANDALONE SYSTEM WITH ELECTRONICS MODULE AND DISPLAY: UNIT WILL HAVE AN 8700-48MS MICROSPRAY ULTRASONIC ATOMIZING NOZZLE (06-04143), DESIGN #Q048-2-36-22-463-030, CAPABLE OF ATOMIZING WATER AT 0.3 GPH (0.3 ML/SEC), WITH MICROBORE TUBE ASSEMBLY FOR FLOW RATES BELOW 0.04 ML/SEC LIQUID IN CONTACT WITH TITANIUM (TI-6A1-4V) AND STAINLESS STEEL (316). ELECTRONICS MODULE WILL NOT INCLUDE THE LIQUID DELIVERY COMPONENTS. SYSTEM POWER REQUIREMENTS ARE 110 VAC, 50/60 HZ. QUANTITY: 1 EACH. ITEM 2: CHAIN/TAB CONVEYOR WITH HAND CRANK (42 INCH LENGTH). This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Sono-Tek Corporation, 2012 Rt 9W Bldg 3, Milton, NY 12547. This recommendation is made pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on May 30, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
