NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for (1) one CM31 Secondary Standard Pyranometer; (2) one CV2 Radiometer Ventilation System; (3) one 2AP-GD Solar Tracker, 24 VDC powered; (4) one 2AP pointing & shading assembly; and (5) one 2Ap 4-quadrant sun sensor for the NASA Langley Baseline Surface Radiation Network. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from KIPP & Zonen. These parts need to directly integrate into existing hardware and software systems at the BSRN COVE ocean site, the 1250 HiBay calibration site, the MLO calibration facility and the Oklahoma field state. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on June 7, 2000. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government.
