Background "The Operational Contracting Branch (ASC/PKWOSB) of the Aeronautical Systems Center will issue a solicitation approximately 7 June 2000 for Base-Wide Laundry and Dry Cleaning. Proposals will be due thirty days after solicitation issue date (approx 7 Jul 00) The acquisition will be a Small Business Set Aside. The Standard Industrial Code for this acquisition is 7218. A Small Business in this SIC cannot exceed $10.5 million average gross revenue over the last 3 fiscal years. The period of the contract will commence on 1 October 2000 and include the base period plus four one year option periods. Contract will include the dailypick-up and cleaning of soiled bulk laundry, piece laundry and dry cleaning. Estimated laundry count over the five years of the contract is: Bulk Laundry: 3,935,000 lbs, Piece Laundry: 43,932 pieces, and Dry Cleaning: 38,500 pieces. Mr. Stephen Plaisted has been appointed as Ombudsman to hear concerns from offerors, or potential offerors, during the proposal development. The purpose of the Ombudsman is to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements and recommendations to the appropriate government personnel.
