austinbr@navair.navy.mil. The Navy intends to award a Firm Fixed Price
order under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-99-G-1170 to Northrop
Grumman Corporation (NGC) to conduct an engineering study on the
structural fatigue life of the EA-6B Center Wing Section. The study
includes a review of the EA-6B structural design, the aircraft
operational usage and the EA-6B Fatigue Damage calculation algorithm.
The purpose of this study is to confirm fatigue critical locations,
modify/correct the algorithm and establish and validate the individual
fatigue life expended (FLE) values for all critical locations on the
Center Wing Section. As the sole designer, developer, and producer the
EA-6B aircraft fuselage and outer wing panels, NGC is the only
contractor with sufficient technical knowledge to fulfill the
Government's requirement. This synopsis is for informational purposes
only. For subcontracting opportunities, contact Northrop Grumman, South
Oyster Bay Road, Bethpage, NY 11714. See Note 22. Posted 05/23/00
