Contracting Officer, (301)757-9062 The Naval Air Systems Command is
anticipating releasing a Firm Fixed Price Request for Proposal for the
fabrication of TF-34 HPC Blade and Vane Baskets manufactured in
accordance with Government provided drawings to support the disassembly
operation and new Matched Engine Blade Assembly process. Baskets are to
be used during disassembly, routing, cleaning, inspection, storage, and
ultimately re-assembly phases of production for the TF-34 jet engine
HPC. The basket sets shall provide for the maintenance of specific
blade and vane stage clock-address locations on the engine rotors and
stator cases respectively. Two basket types shall be produced to
accommodate blades and vanes. Baskets are to be manufactured from a
combination of stainless steel TYPE 304, solid sheet metal and
stainless steel TYPE 304, perforated sheet metal. Some assemblies shall
require welding. Blade and vane basket fabrication shall be as
specified in drawings. Required blade basket fabrication quantities
shall consist of providing 740 each of the generic frames, 92 each of
the blade card A, 138 each of the blade card B, 510 each of the blade
card C. Required vane baskets type fabrication quantities shall consist
of 64 each of the 14 space frames type, 96 each of the 48 space frames
type and 288 each of the 96 space frames type. One full set of each
basket type shall be fabricated as a prototype and delivered to NADEP
Jacksonville to satisfy first article inspection requirements for fit,
form and function. Once the prototype passes inspection delivery will
be 6-8 weeks after receipt of order and then every 2 weeks after
initial delivery. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code for
this acquisition is 3499. This acquisition has been established as a
small business set aside. Qualified firms are encouraged to review the
solicitation. The Navy will release the Request for Proposal (RFP) via
