Y -- CONSTRUCT NEW WELLS, WELL BLDGS, & FENCES SOL DADW35-00-B-0013 POC Contract Specialist, Sandy Bruce, (703) 806-4438 The U.S. Army Military District of Washington Acquisition Center, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, intends to issue a Solicitation for a Contractor to provide all labor, equipment, materials and supervision necessary for the construction of two new wells, well buildings and fencing at two different locations at Fort A.P. Hill, Virginia, with one additive new well, well building and fencing at a different location at Fort A.P. Hill. This project will be Firm Fixed Price with a period of performance of 90 days. All construction, well development submersible pump installation, operation of all systems and sub-systems shall conform to the VA State Waterworks Regulations. Work consists of, but not limited to, construction of the new wells, provide pre-fabricated buildings to house wells, pumping equipment and chlorination systems at each well location, the connection of each of the new wells to the existing distribution system, provide underground electrical supply from the existing power supply to each new well/well house, complete with transformer, obtain all applicable permits, conduct sampling and analysis of water in accordance with the State Waterworks Regulations, furnish/install underground direct burial communication wire from the new well/well house to the existing reporting tower, and install chain link fencing. The magnitude is estimated between $250,000 to $500,000. The SIC Code is 1781 with a size standard of $7.0 million. The approximate release date of the solicitation is 12 July 2000.
