This project DCS-060 (00) requires the construction of a new 1,000 g.p.m. production well, new production and domestic pump controls, and water pipeline including valves,appurtenances and all electrical work at the U.S. Geological Survey National Fisheries Research and Development Laboratory located on Route 4 in Wellsboro, PA. The SIC Code for this project is 1781. The magnitude of the construction will be between $100,000 and $250,000. This is an unrestricted acquisition. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. All work will be conducted as detailed in the construction plans and drawings. Drawings and plans can be obtained on the date of the preproposal site visit scheduled to take place on June 27,2000 at the Wellsboro National Fisheries Research and Development Laboratory. This project includes but is not limited to: conducting groundwater investigations, including drilling test wells for the purpose of determining the most suitable site for a new production well, constructing a new 30 inch diameter gravel packed, 14 inch diameter steel cased water supply production well capable of pumping a minimum of 1,000 gallons a minute of clean fresh water for the operation of the laboratory; conducting a pumping test; laboratory water quality analyses; and preparation of a final report; completion of all electrical work and appurtenances required to provide a fully operational production well; installation of a water pipeline, metering pit including flowmeter, valves, hydrant and appurtenances;excavation, backfill, compacting and testing, final site grading, loam and seeding; and the installation of a new water control system for the operation of the new well plus the existing two (2) production wells and one (1) domestic well, adding a well pump indicator panel in the main building. In addition, the contractor shall install a new process and domestic hydro-pneumatic controller for each system . This work must be completed within 120 days after a notice to proceed is given to the contractor.
