to negotiate on an other than full and open competitive basis with AJA
International Inc. for a Sputtering System. AJA International Inc.,
developer, has the proprietary design knowledge and expertise
pertaining to the thermal conductive membrane. The material basis of
the thermal conductive membrane dissipates heat from the sample
targets, preventing cracking of the glass samples, utilizing copper as
the heat transfer medium. A unique feature developed by AJA is the
orientation and combination of nickel-plated iron slugs and rare earth
magnets in the modular magnet array can be varied in a controlled
manner and a number of magnetic field configurations can be achieved to
allow for maximum target efficiency and extend the life time of the
targets. Responses to the notice of intent to negotiate with AJA should
be submitted no later than 45 days from date of synopsis. Submitted
responses shall include but are not restricted to the following: The
