sources interested in providing VHF Mobile Radios for use by Coast
Guard operational units. This radio must statisfy the following general
requirements: (1) Meet standards set forth in TIA 102
(Telecommunications Industry Association)including selectable channel
spacing of 12.5 or 25 kHz; analog Frequency Modulation (FM) or Common
Air Interface (CAI) with C4FM or CQPSK modulation; and operating in a
conventional radio system environment. (2) Have a frequency band of at
least 146-174 MHz, receive and transmit. (3) Have a minimum of 225
programmable channels selectable, which can be divided into a minimum
of 4 different zones. (4) Each channel and zone shall have the
capability of being named. (5) Have a alpha/numeric display capable of
displaying zone or channel name. (6) Have a selectable or programmable
output power of 1 and 25 watts. (7) Input power shall be 12VDC. (8)
Have 12kbps CVSD DES and Project 25 DES-OFB enctyption. (9) Offer a
data capability through an RS-232 serial interface in accordance with
TIA 102. (10) Include the capability of control from single and dual
remote heads. Control of radios shall be controlled via the control
heads. (11) Have a capability of providing a line level output of both
reveive and transmit audio to an external recorder. (12) Have a
capability to remote PTT/keyline. (13) Must be FCC type accepted. (14)
Must be a commercial, off-the-shelf radio currently offered for sale
in the U.S. This is not a solicitation for proposals and no contract
