The Gerontology Research Center of the National Institute on Aging, NIH has a requirement to temporarily house Baltimore Longitudinal Study of Aging (BLSA) participants for a two to three day period while they participate in various testing procedures at the GRC (located at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, behind emergency, 4940 Eastern Avenue). These participants are normally in good health, but some may require accommodations such as wheel chair access, grab bars, etc. The participants' age ranges from 20 to 90 years of age. Contractor shall guarantee the availability of eighty (80) double non-smoking rooms each month from Sunday through Thursday for the period 7/10/00 -- 10/31/00. Daily anticipated room requirements will be 4 per day, Sunday thru Thursday but may fluctuate within a range of 2-6 per day. Room occupany will be confimred with reservations at least 10 days prior to participant's visit. The contractor shall provide a "hospitality" room for exclusive use by BLSA participants. At aminimum, the room shall include a microwave oven, small refrigerator, television with cable and VCR and a table and chairs to seat 8 people. The contractor shall provide nonalcoholoic beverages, fruits and small snacks for participants. Contractor shall inventory beverages, fruits and snacks daily. A restaurant must be available in or adjacent to the hotel. Contractor shall provide free local phone service in guest rooms. Contractor shall provide transportation to and from the Gerontology Research Center as needed. The contractor shall provide evidence of adequate liability insurance. The contractor shall notify the Project Officer of cancellations and accidents. The contractor shall obtain written authorization in advance of providing services at additional cost to the National Institute on Aging. PLEASE NOTE: The following items should be priced separately: (l) Daily room rate; (2) Daily rate for hospitality room; (3) Beverages, fruits, snacks for hospitality room; and (4) transportation services (optional-may not be included in award of contract).
