The Department of the Army, TACOM-ARDEC at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ intends to procure engineering services in support to the Project Manager for Mines, Countermines and Demolitions (PM-MCD) on the Sympathetic Detonator Timer System (SYDET) Program, more specifically on the design of proximity switches of the Hall type, for the integration of an acoustic sensor to sense explosive detonations and for determining the feasibility of incorporating a Lithium and Alkaline battery tester in the SYDET circuitry. The contractor's expertise in the mechanical design of acoustic systems, impervious to explosive shocks from nearby systems, will be utilized by PM-MCD in the design of SYDET. The contractor will advise and assist the Integrated Product Teams (IPT) during the conduct, testing and qualification of the above programs both on the ground and in the surf zone.
