The Coastal Systems Station, Dahlgren Division, NSWC, Panama City, FL 32407-7001 intends to solicit on a limited competition basis for on-site/on-craft maintenance support and overhaul of the commercially developed and marketed Caterpillar Model 3126 engines used on the Navy Special Warfare (NSW) Special Boat Unit (SBU) Rigid Inflatable Boats. Services will be provided at both SBUs, one of which is located on the East coast and one of which is located on the West coast. These engines were/are procured with commercial warranties, which require that only OEM parts be utilized when replacement of parts is required during service. Additionally, maintenance services beyond the SBU's capabilities and/or overhaul of these engines must be provided by a Caterpillar factory authorized full service dealer or the warranty will be voided. Accordingly, this action is being restricted to competition between Caterpillar factory authorized full service dealers. Contract award may be made to a single contractor for bothEast and West Coast SBUs or two contracts may be awarded providing separate coverage of the East and West coast requirements.
