Hogue, hoguecd@mcrdpi.usmc.mil. This is to modify the solicitation sent out on 05/02/00 and respond to specific questions from interested vendors of this solicitation. The delivery date of 60 days in paragraph (viii) is being modified to 120 days from the date of award. The following questions were faxed on 05/25/00 from an interested vendor and are being replied to in this modification. No other changes to the solicitation are being made other than the delivery date as stated above. Contractors Question (1): Paragraph (VII) Flatwork Separating Systems -- "You asked that the unit be tested and approved by a recognized testing agency. We assume UL listing will suffice. You however, do not request this testing agency be part of the specification for the main body of the solicitation the flatwork ironer as requested in Section VI -- surely if listing is required for Section VII it would also be required for Section VI. Please clarify. " Governments Response: The Flatwork Ironer and Flatwork Separating System both must meet or exceed the Underwriters' Laboratories (UL), Standards for wiring, fitting and conduit, Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) Standards, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Standard, welding qualifications, and the Commercial Standards. Contractors Question (2): Paragraph (VII) "Last two lines: who would be responsible for removing old equipment (if not shown as a separate trade in line item) to the Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, South Carolina." Governments Response: The old equipment will be removed by the successful contractor to the DRMO site at the Marine Corps Air Station, Beaufort, South Carolina (if not shown as a separate trade). Contractors Question (3): "Although the bid must be submitted prior to 3 P.M. EST -- 6-1-00, there is no mention of a bid award date."
