Wyatt, Contract Specialist, (202) 426-0133 The U.S. Department of Energy intends to award a modification to the subject contract. The purpose of the modification is to expand the upgrade of the current software under Option Year 4 to include incorporating DRI's EViews IO Model into the DOE framework. This work will entail developing a framework for linking with DOE's other economic models, training DOE staff on the use of the models, and preparing an IO Model users' guide and documentation. This will provide DOE with expanded industry detail and more transparent forecasting tools. The proposed contract modification action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within ten days (FAR 5.203, commercial item modification) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract modification based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
