This specification covers the necessary services, labor, material, engineering, equipment and control components required to modify/replace an existing pallet conveyor system which services an existing AS/RS called TRIAX located at Defense Distribution Depot Norfolk, VA (DDNV). The contractor shall provide all the necessary services, labor, material, engineering, equipment and control components required to upgrade four existing Jervis Webb AS/RS Cranes which are approximately twenty years old. The purpose is to make the cranes completely operational. The cranes currently only work in manual mode and must be retrofitted to run in completely automatic mode. While retrofitting the existing cranes, the contractor shall also provide all maintenance services on the existing AS/RS cranes, to make the entire system completely operational and capable of meeting the performance parameters of this specification. The contractor shall also retrofit the existing crane control system to interface with Government supplied DSS and ECS software systems so that the cranes shall perform picking and stow operations based on communications from the Government host computer. The conveyor system shall be retrofitted as per Defense Distribution Center Drawing 00-4-1 which will be included with the solicitation.
