THIS ANNOUNCEMENT CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION; PROPOSALS ARE BEING REQUESTED AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL NOT BE ISSUED. Solicitation No. 00Q065 is issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular No. 97-15. This action is sole source to JPS Communications, Inc., Raleigh, N.C. 27616. The SIC code is 5065 and the size standard is 500 employees. The U.S. Secret Service has a requirement for three each ACU 1000 Modular Interconnect Systems. The ACU 1000 Modular Interconnect System is required for radio and telephone connectivity with other Federal, State and Local law enforcement agencies due to bureau-specific requirements. The Government has no form, fit or function data available to further describe this requirement. Therefore, the Contracting Officer has determined that only one source is reasonably available for this procurement, per the requirements of FAR Part 13. Each system consists of the following: ACU-1000 Chassis, 1 each, Part number 5961-200000; PSM-1, Power Supply, 1 each, part number 5951-813000; 1 each, HSP-2, Handset speaker mod., part number 5962-34000, 1 each, CPM-2, CPU Module, Part number 5961-213000; 9 each, DSP-1, Digital Signal Processor, part number 5961-818000; 3 each, PSTN-1, Pub Swt Phone Inf, part number 5961-215000; and Console Control Software, part number 5961-298000, 1 each.
