The National Naval Medical Center has a requirement for the Laboratory Medicine Department's Complex Testing Division. NNMC intends to award a sole-sourced purchase order to Bio-Rad Laboratories Diagnostics Group 4000 Alfred Novel Drive Hercules, CA 94547 for a Cost-Per-Test contract for a period of thirty-six (36) months for their Variant Hemoglobin Testing System. Bio-Rad Laboratories testing system is capable of performing hemoglobin electrophoresis by the HPLC method. The cost-per-test contract will include the following: 270-0001RM Variant Hemoglobin Testing system, 196-7393RM One Autodiluter for sample preparation, 270-0019 B-Thalassemia short reorder pack 250 test which includes elution buffer 1 (2 x 1900 ml), elution buffer 2 (1 x 1800 ml), wash solution (1 x 1800 ml), hemolysis reagents (1 x 800 ml), analytical cartridges (1 x 250 injections), A2/F calibrator/diluent set 2 x (6 x 10 ml, 100 ml), whole blood primer (10 x 1 ml), sample vials (250 x 1.5 ml), rom card and instruction manual (1), four (4) test packs to be delivered with initial startup of contract, 553 lypochek HgB A2 control, 270-0101 thermal paper. Bio-Rad will also provide equipment servicing and training for two (2) technologists at their Hercules, CA facility. Award will be made in the form of a purchase order for a base period from date of acceptance of analyzer through 30 September 2000 with three (3)additional option periods. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
