The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to renew annual software maintenance and to continue technical support, provided by an existing contract with Mainstar Software Corporation. The software products are Mainstar_s Recovery Solution Products that support data identification and movement for Y2K testing and backup and recovery contingency processing. SSA currently has this software installed and licensed on SSA_s mainframes at the National Computer Center, Baltimore, Maryland. The software that shall be supported includes ABARS Manager, ASAP, Incremental ABARS, Recovery Volume, Aggregated Balancing and GDG Basebuilder. Annual Maintenance of this software shall include but is not limited to: All upgrades, modification, new releases, improvements, extensions and other enhancements to the products and all software updates necessary to keep current with the new versions or releases of SSA_s current operating systems software. Technical Support services are required to continue in the implementation and development of the Disaster Recovery Methodology as well as assist in the evaluation of SSA_s application environment and the conversion of that environment to ABARS. Mainstar Software Corporation is the only known source capable of providing the required annual software support and onsite technical support services and technical training for the referenced software products. Other organizations possessing the requisite expertise and resources are invited to submit information concerning their capabilities, experience, and other pertinent data (including GSA Schedule information). When responding to this announcement, respondents should refer to Mainstar2000. Responses must be in writing and should be submitted to the address cited at the beginning of this notice. THE DUE DATE FOR RESPONSES IS 12:00 PM, EST, JUNE 14,2000. FAXED RESPONSES SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED. The Government does not intend to pay for information received. All responses from responsible sources will be fully considered. As a result of evaluating responses to this notice, the contracting officer may determine that a solicitation will be issued. If a solicitation is issued, no additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be issued to the intended vendor, as stated herein, and to all firms that respond to this notice or otherwise request a copy of the solicitation.
