NEWS RELEASE -- DOD ELECTRONIC COMMERCE DAY 2000 PLANS ANNOUNCED DoD Electronic Commerce Day 2000 Plans Announced Fort Belvoir, VA -- The third annual Department of Defense Electronic Commerce Day will be held June 5, 2000 at the Omni Shoreham Hotel, in Washington, D.C. The event will be co-sponsored by the Joint Electronic Commerce Program Office (JECPO) and the Government Electronics and Information Technology Association (GEIA). The theme for EC Day 2000 is "DoD eBusiness: A Catalyst for Change in a Digital Environment." As a sanctioned activity of DoD Acquisition and Logistics Reform Week, the scheduled events will include distinguished speakers, panel discussions, exhibits and information booths from industry representatives and military services, and the presentation of DoD electronic commerce awards. Electronic Commerce Day is open to DoD employees, defense industry contractors, and others interested in the Department's electronic commerce initiatives.
