includes but is not limited to: replacing all potable water supply
lines from the main to each fixture and all waste lines including vents
from each fixture to the main; all existing piping shall be removed
including any unneeded or concealed plumbing chases or abandoned
plumbing from previous renovations; building finishes that have been
damaged by water leaks or demolished to remove or replace the plumbing
shall be repaired to match the existing surrounding finishes; new
replacement lines shall be installed with shut-off valves to isolate
each fixture, restroom, wing and floor; maintenance access panels and
clean-outs shall be placed as needed; installing new manholes, service
lines, risers, bends, tees, wye connections, clean outs, tapping
sleeve and valves outside the building for line connections to main and
repairing the concrete and asphalt surfaces disturbed by this repair
work. Plumbing piping is primarily routed in the ground floor areas to
vertical risers, which serve individual latrines in several locations.
Above ground drain, waste and vent piping is primarily hub cast iron.
Domestic water distribution piping is copper. The building will be
occupied during the construction period. The work shall be phased so
that the building will remain operational throughout the construction
period. Building 52 is comprised of four interconnected buildings. The
building is used as an administrative office facility. Different
fixture and trim types and brands are located in the building. This
acquisition is restricted to certified HUBzone small businesses
pursuant to FAR 19.13. Bidders must be registered in the Central
Contractor Registration (CCR)database in order to receive award. The
size standard for a small business concern, including its affiliates,
is average annual sales or receipts for the three preceding fiscal
years, not to exceed $7 million. The standard industrial code (SIC) is
1711. The IFB is to be issued on or about 24 Jul 00. All requests for
this IFB must be in writing and reference DABT19-00-B-1013.
