(214) 767-3492 PRESOLICITATION NOTICE: Work to consist of renovations
to existing Santa Fe Indian Hospital (Santa Fe, NM) Isolation Room and
the conversion of a general use room(s) to Isolation Rooms which will
include but not be limited to selective demolition of interior walls
& ceilings, removal & replacement of mechanical & electrical systems &
equipment, construction new interior partitions and providing new
finishes as indicated in the contract plans and specifications,
entitled "Isolation Room Renovation at the Santa Fe Indian Hospital" by
David N. Sloan & Associates, dated May 7, 1998, and with the
requirements of the Master Contract. Estimated contract period is 120
calendar days. Estimated magnitude is from $100,000 to $250,000.

bonds are required. The proposed contract listed herein is Set-Aside
under the Buy Indian Act for 51 percent Indian owned, operated, and
controlled firms. In accordance with the Public Health Service
Acquisition Regulation Paragraph 380-503(e), not more than 50 percent
of the work to be performed under a prime contract awarded pursuant to
the Buy Indian Act shall be subcontracted to other than Indian owned
firms. For this purpose, work to be performed does not include the
provision of materials, supplies, or equipment. In order for Indian
owned firms to prove that they meet the qualifications requirement of
the Buy-Indian Set-Aside restriction, i.e., bidders who are currently
certified by the Indian Health Service or the Bureau of Indian Affairs
as an "Indian Firm" need to submit this certification (Tribal
Affiliation and Degree of Indian Blood with their bid. Bidders who are
not currently certified by IHS or BIA are required to submit proof of
ownership and eligibility for Indian preference under the "Buy Indian
Act". Joint Ventures will be considered as long as the Indian firm is
the managing entity. Plans and Specifications will be available on or
around (o/a) June 28, 2000, by writing to Kathleen Brancato at the
above address. No deposit is required for the first set of solicitation
documents for 51 percent (or more) Indian owned firms. Requests for
additional plans and specifications MUST be accompanied by a
NON-REFUNDABLE cashier check of money order in the amount of $75.00 for
51 percent (or more) Indian owned firms. All solicitation documents for
non-Indian owned firms are $75.00 each and must be accompanied by a
NON-REFUNDABLE cashier check or money order made out to Indian Health
Service. Bid opening Date is scheduled on or around (o/a) August 1,
2000, at 2:00 pm. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall
be considered by the agency. Contractors shall ensure that bonding
