E-MAIL: Leta R. Neyman, leta.neyman@dfrc.nasa.gov. NASA/DFRC plans to issue an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for Evaporative Cooling for Hangar Building 4833. The work involved is this acquisition consists of the following: Civil: Asphalt sawcutting, trench excavation, and installation of a new sewer line; backfill and paving patch. Minor building demolition for installation of new ductwork, including some lead paint abatement. Structural: Cut roofing over the workshop area, provide structural support for new evaporative coolers and modify exisiting sturcture as required. Mechanical: Provide new evaporative cooling units, related ductwork, piping and equipment for the hangar area. Electrical: Provide all associated electrical and wiring work for the new evaporative coolers and connection to the existing building fire alarm system. The order of magnitude for the procurement is between $250,000 and $500,000 and the effort shall be completed within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed. The SIC Code and small busines size standard for this procurement are1711 and 7 million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the IFB is on or about June 12, 2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about July 12, 2000. The provisions and clauses in the solicitation are those in effect through FAC 97 -- 16. The firm date for receipt of bids will be stated in the IFB. In accordance with FAR 19.1303 and 1305 this acquisition is being restricted to HUBZone small business concerns. Copies of this solicitation will be made available to prime contractors only.
