This notice announces the intent of Air Force Medical Center to solicit offerors for a competitive commercial acquisition for services to restore and keep the Magnetic Resonance Imaging Magnet (MRI) and Cryogen System in operating condition which includes preventive maintenance, liquid helium cryogen, scheduled inspections in Area A of Building 830 Wright-Patterson AFB. IT IS INTENDED THAT THIS AWARD WILL BE MADE AS A COMMERCIAL ITEM ACQUISITION AND WILL BE ISSUED ON A STANDARD FORM 1449 WITH ADDENDA. The period of performance for this acquisition is anticipated to be 01 October 2000 -- 30 September 2001 with four (4) one year Option Periods. This proposed procurement is a full and open competition under SIC Code 7699, Size Standard $5M. Only companies, including their affiliates, with average annual receipts of 5,000,000.00 or less during the last three (3) completed fiscal years are considered small. This award will be made using the Two-Step Sealed Bidding procedures in accordance with FAR 14.5. Under Step 1, offerors are to submit a technical proposal only. Price or cost estimates are NOT included in Step 1. An Invitation for Bid will be issued under Step 2 to those firms whose technical proposals have been determined to be acceptable. This solicitation will be issued electronically. NO HARD COPIES WILL BE ISSUED FOR ANY REASON. The Request for Technical Proposal (RFTP) and Performance Work Statement (PWS) will be posted on the ASC Pre-Award Information Exchange System (PIXS) web site at: http://www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil. Draft solicitation documents may be posted for comments prior to solicitation issuance. The solicitation will be issued approximately 30 May 2000.
