Fuel Tanks, (5) Clean, Inspect, and Disinfect Potable Water Tanks, (6)
Clean, Inspect Ballast Tanks and Voids, (7) Preserve Ballast Tanks and
Voids, (8) Clean and Inspect Sewage and Grey Water Collection and
Holding Tanks, (9) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Propeller Shafts,
(10) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Intermediate Shafts, (11) Fabricate
Shaft, (12) Straighten Shaft, (13) Renew Water-Lubricated Shaft
Bearings, (14) Renew Shaft Sleeves, (15) Renew Shaft Strut Barrel, (16)
Renew Propellers, (17) Remove, Inspect, and Reinstall Rudder Assemblies
for Steering and Flanking Systems, (18) Rebuild Rudder Stock, (19)
Renew Rudder Lower Bearing Trunk, (20) Renew Upper Bearing Housing and
Upper Bearing Housing Support, (21) Clean and Test Grid Coolers, (22)
Install Umbilical Cord Electrical Outlet (Bargealt No. 130-B-014),
(23) Renew Chill Water/Hot Water and Circulating Water Piping

(36) Preserve Underwater Body, (37) Preserve Freeboard, (38)
Ultrasonic Testing, (39) Temporary Logistics, (40) Routine Dry-docking,
(41) Composite Labor, and (42) Laydays. The vessel is 75', 5 " in
length and 22', 5" in width and the barge is 130' in length and 30' in
width. The vessel's homepier is located at 4101 Port Road, Pine Bluff,
Arkansas 71611-7627. The availability schedule begins on or about 02
October 2000 for a period of performance of forty-seven (47) calendar
days. The place of performance is geographically restricted as follows:
(General): Restricted to the Western Rivers of the United States. The
"Western Rivers" means the navigable portions of Mississippi River and
its tributaries above mile zero (0) of the Lower Mississippi River.
Navigable tributaries of the Mississippi River include only the
waterways within the areas of jurisdiction of Coast Guard Aids to
Navigation Facilities as described in Light List Volume V (COMDTINST
M16502.5), and the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the mouth of the
Mobile River. This includes protected portions of the Intra Coastal
Waterway connected to the "Western Rivers," but specifically excludes
unprotected or open waters such as Mobile Bay, Lake Borne, or the Gulf
of Mexico.(Special): Due to the closing of the Price Lock and Dam
during the November 1 through March 15 timeframe, the vessel is
restricted to areas south of the Melvin Price Lock and Dam. Drawings
are available on CD-ROM, free of charge to contractors. However, a
non-refundable charge of $150.00 is required in the form of a certified
check or money order made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard, for printed
copies of drawings. All other referenced documents are available for
viewing at 300 E. Main Street, Suite 600, Norfolk, VA. Funds are
available for this procurement. All businesses, large and small, are
encouraged to submit bids for the subject requirements. Plans and
specifications will be issued on or after June 16, 2000. The proposed
contract listed here is part of the Small Business Competitiveness
Demonstration Program. All responsible sources may submit a bid which
shall be considered by the United States Coast Guard. ATTENTION:
Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises DBEs. The
Department of Transportation (DOT) Short-Term Lending Program (STLP)
offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to
finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts.
