COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JUNE 2,2000 PSA#2613M -- MULTI-WING LOGISTICS SUPPORT ACQUISITION Under the upcoming
multi-wing logistics support acquisition, HQ AFSPC Contracting is
seeking information from small businesses in regards to the feasibility
of utilizing the Government's charge card in the payment of contract
invoices. That process requires a contractor to establish a vendor
account with its bank. Upon receipt of a complete and accurate invoice
and receiving report for the services, the contracting officer will
notify the contractor that the contractor may bill the contractor's own
bank. The contractor's bank seeks payment through the banks's credit
card network system. The information sought is: How much of an expense
will opening a vendor account with banks and the accompanying
transaction fees be to utilize the above process? Is payment within a
few days of invoicing a benefit to small businesses over the expense
incurred in opening an account and the transaction fees? Would small
businesses like to see this payment process in the multi-wing logistics
support acquisition? Small businesses with an interest in the
multi-wing logistics support acquisition should submit replies to the
above inquiry along with any other information related to invoice
payment by Government credit card no later than 20 June 2000. WEB:
