Armaments Command-Warren (TACOM-Warren) will be issuing a Request For
Proposal (RFP) to develop and evaluate lightweight combat vehicle hull
and turret concepts which integrate advanced aerospace and marine
metallic materials, structures and armors with non-traditional
structures approaches and Composite Armored Vehicle Advanced Technology
Demonstrator (CAV-ADT) technology. The estimated release date of RFP
DAAE07-00-R-L022 is 20 Jun 00 and the closing date for Receipt of
Proposals is 19 Jul 00. Numbered Note 22 applies. This effort is
planned to be acquired on a firm-fixed-price basis from United Defense
Limited Partnership (UDLP), Ground Systems Division, San Jose, CA. Due
to the unique qualifications of UDLP, Ground Systems Division, the
proposed contract is planned to be awarded on a sole source basis;
however, any proposal received as a result of this synopsis will be
evaluated for possible competition. The period of performance for the
resulting contractshall be 12 months. The solicitation will be issued
in electronic format, and only electronic proposal responses will be
accepted. The solicitation will be posted on our web site, as given
below. Contractors will be required to submit their response in one of
the following electronic media: 100 megabyte Zip-disk, e-mail, 3 1/2
inch disk, or 650 megabyte CD ROM. E-mailed offers are to be sent to
the buyer identified below. The subject line of the email submissions
must read "Offer-DAAE07-00-RL022 Closes 19 Jul 00." Maximum size of
emailed offers shall not exceed 3.5 megabytes. Compressed files must be
self extracting and must be furnished with appropriate instructions to
open and expand the compressed files. Offerors are reminded to provide
the following additional information with each proposal: Company Name,
CAGE code, DUNS Number, and the email address where you would like
correspondence sent. All offerors must be registered in the Central
