The Lassen National Forest, Hat Creek Ranger District, intends to acquire services for mechanical site preparation (cutting and mechanical piling)services for the purpose of protecting "residual trees" from wildfire and/or the preparation of designated sites by soil disturbance with crossing-ripping, to enhance the potential establishment of natural regeneration. There is an estimated 114 acres. The Four Corners area is located approximately 3 air miles north and northwest of the Four Corners Intersection. The Duke area is located approximately 15 air miles south and southeast of Fall River Mills, California. A site Visit has been schedule for Thursday, June 22, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. Participants will meet at the Hat Creek Ranger Station, Highway 299 East, Fall River Mills, California. Contract time is 90 calendar days. Desired start work date July 17, 2000. Solicitation to be released on, or about, June 15, 2000.
