The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) contemplates multiple awards of a two year contract with three one year option periods for a project entitled "Clinicial Immunization Safety Assessment (CISA) Center," whose purpose would be to improve the understanding reported vaccine adverse events and the systematic collection and evaluation of such reports by clinical specialist in vaccine safety. This projects seeks to meet these needs by contracting for three (3) regional Clinical Immunization Safety Assessment (CISA) Centers -- geographically spread across the country. The contractors (or "Centers") will collaborate as a "Network." The resulting accural of expertise in clinical vaccine safety, and the continual sharing of knowledge through publication and consultation services outside the Network, will benefit vaccine recipients in particular and immunication programs in general. The date specified for receipt of proposals will be approximately 30 days after the issue date of the Request for Proposal (RFP), which is anticipated to be June 29, 2000. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered. A wage determination has not been requested since the requirement involves meaningful numbers of professional employees as defined in FAR Subpart 22.11.
