Pre-Solicitation: Project consists of furnishing all labor, materials,
and equipment required to perform all work in strict accordance with
specifications, schedules, and drawings for the construction of a
two-story building designed to include food preparation/kitchen, dining
facility, physical fitness area, and medical training/clinic facility
to be located at the Alabama Air National Guard Base, Dannelly Field,
Montgomery, Alabama. The new building is approximately 24,600 SF. The
first floor will include the food preparation/kitchen, the dining area
and the physical fitness area consuming approximately 14,000 SF. The
second floor will comprise of the medical training/clinic facility
consuming approximately 10,000 SF. The remainder square footage is
exterior cover to include an ambulance parking area. Complete plumbing,
mechanical, electrical and auxiliary systems to be included.
Kitchen/dishwashing equipment is included in the contract. The exterior
of the building will be brick. The first floor roofs will be low slope
built-up membrane, while the second floor roof will be a hip style
standing seam metal roof. Site work to include the installation of a
communications manhole/ductbank system running approximately 2,200 LF
from the existing communications building to the new facility, the
repaving of Perimeter Road, construction of a circular drive, new
utility service to the facility, construction of three aircraft static
display mounts and landscaping/irrigation. The sitework will also
include the demolition of three buildings; an existing army hanger, the
existing dining hall and the existing physical fitness building. The
army hanger is located in the site of the new facility and will have to
be demolished prior to new construction. The existing dining hall and
physical fitness buildings must remain in-service during the
construction, therefore they will be demolished at the end of the
project. Hazardous material abatement is required as part of the
demolition process. Estimated cost of construction is between
$5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. A non-refundable check of $125.00
made payable to the DFAS/FTD, Limestone, Maine is required for each set
of plans and specifications. Plans, specifications, and bid documents
are available from the USPFO for Alabama, ATTN: AL-US-P, P O Box 3715,
Montgomery, AL 36109-0715. Plans and specifications will be available
for reviewing at the F. W. Dodge Plans Room, Montgomery, AL and at the
office of the Base Civil Engineer, Dannelly Field (ANG), Montgomery,
AL. This project is 100% unrestricted. IFB Number DAHA01 00 B 0002 will
be issued with an anticipated issue date of June 28, 2000, with a bid
