Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) seeks interested parties to commercialize an Intellectual Property portfolio of over 40 inventions relating to improved performance and applications of their government developed RF tag (RFID) technology. PNNL researchers have developed methods and technology which results in the following performance improvements. Extended Range : RF Tags that perform read/write functions and exceed commercially available tags in distance range by a factor of ten. Ranges in the hundreds of meters are possible. Simultaneous Reading: Techniques to increase the number of tags that can be read in a given time period by an order of magnitude over the industry standard. Rates greater than 500 tags per second are possible. Tag Location: Have demonstrated the ability to find the physical location of a tag less expensively and to a higher precision than the current commercial products.
