Institute on Aging, Intramural Research Program, Gerontology Research
Center intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Keith
Whitfield, Ph.D., College of Health and Human Development, The
Pennsylvania State University, 315 East Health and Human Development,
University Park, PA 16802-6509. Dr. Whitfield will provide data based
on what environmental circumstances may be related to poor health
status among 500 older African Americans living in Baltimore, MD who
have participated in the Baltimore Study of Black Aging (BSBA). The
study will utilize the Geographic Information Systems mapping(GIS) and
this information will then be assessed in the context of barriers to
research participation among this group of older African Americans. An
award will be made 30 days from the date of this notice. All
responsible sources may submit their capabilities which shall be
considered by the agency. This procurement is being awarded as a
simplified acquisition in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5. See Note
