requirement for a Contractor to Construct a New Laboratory and
Mechanical Wing Addition to the EPA, Region 10 Laboratory, Manchester,
Washington. The project consists of a tilt-up precast concrete
laboratory wing with precast concrete roof flanks and the mechanical
wing with steel frame, metal decking and concrete, with
pre-manufactured metal siding and EPDM membrane roofing. The project
incorporates laboratory equipment, cabinets, caseworks, fume hoods;
HVAC systems with oil-fired boiler and air-cooled chiller; plumbing
systems that include laboratory gases, acid waste and vent, and fire
protection system including sprinkler system; and electrical systems
with new electrical service to new construction through existing
electrical system. A firm-fixed price contract is contemplated. The
anticipated contract performance period is 365 calendar days after
receipt of notice to proceed. The estimated price range is between
$2,500,000.00 and $4,000,000.00. The solicitation should be issued
around August 1, 2000 with a due date around September 7, 2000. There
will be no charge for the plans and specifications. Requests for IFB
