The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District plans to solicit bids to construct a building to be used as the Construction Field Office during construction activities for the new Kentucky Lock Project. The project bid range is expected to be between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The anticipated contract period is 9 months, with consideration given to inclement. SIC is 1542. For the purpose of determining size, a small business is on whose gross annual receipt does not exceed $17M in a three year period. Plans and Specifications are expected to be available on or about late June 2000 The approximately 130 ft x 65 ft construction field office is a slab on grade heavy timber and light gauge metal building with a shingle roof. The contractor will be required to provide all plant, labor and materials to construct the building. Other items to be included in the contract are: clearing the construction site per plans and disposing of debris; constructing the parking area and all associated sidewalks; curb and gutter. Guardrail, signage and drainage features; chain link fencing; exterior electrical site work and lighting; portable water supply connections; sanitary lines with lift station; and landscaping. This solicitation will be issued electronically at no cost from Nashville District Corps of Engineers Contracting Home Page at http//www.orn.usace.army. mil/contracting/. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be issued in late June 2000. Limited quantities of CD-ROM will be available. Contractors are encouraged to use the Nashville District Corps of Engineers homepage.
