The existing battery consists of 120 individual 2.1 volt lead-acid cells connected in series. Dimensions of each cell is 15"x 13.5"x 23" tall. Install new Government furnished battery. Battery consists of 120 individual 2.1 volt cells like the existing battery. Battery is rated at 2350 ampere-hours. Remove old cabling, conduits, and other electrical items that are not needed for the new battery. Furnish and install new 480 volt breaker panels and breakers, 600 amp fuse boxes and fuses, outlet boxes, junction boxes, and enclosures, and new cabling to tie the new battery into the existing electrical system at the dam. Provide a new hydrogen detection system. Provide a temporary standby diesel-electric generator 100 kw with 1000 gallon fuel tank. Connect the generator into the existing electrical system and operate the generator when removing/installing the battery. Some concrete cutting and removal is required. Provide about 2 cy of new concrete. Paint the battery room floor with epoxy paint. The estimated cost range for this job is between $100,000 and $250,000.
