Western Design Howden, the sole-source producer of the AH-64A Loader/Downloader Control Box will be contracted to redesign its obsolete circuitry. This will consist of developing the design, changing the technical data, producing a first article unit, and conducting tests. The item is a control box for the Loader/Downloader for the AH64A Apache Helicopter. The AH-64A Loader/Downloader Control Box was initially designed in 1986. Every time this item is produced, parts obsolescence problems surface. In order to eliminate these problems with future buys, the control box needs to be redesigned using today's technology and state-of-the-art components. There will be a significant increase in reliability since today's technology has shown to be more reliable. Estimated issue date is N/A.
