NASA/GSFC is hereby soliciting information from potential sources for a miniaturized, low voltage, three-axis, flux-gate magnetometer to be incorporated into the six-month ST-5 Mission. We are soliciting information in response to the draft Specification and Statement of Work (SOW) for this instrument, which are attached as document files to this announcement. The key dates of the development schedule for the magnetometer are summarized in the SOW. It is the intent of the ST-5 Project to undertake an acquisition that involves the packaging of an existing magnetometer in order to meet the interface requirements as detailed in the Specification. Given the schedule constraints associated with this development, respondents should provide data detailing the on-orbit performance of an existing flight-qualified instrument that meets the Specification requirements. The funding limitation for this contemplated acquisition is $200K for the effort as described in the SOW. No solicitation exists; therefore, do notrequest a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in the CBD and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor these cites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements, and satisfy the cost and schedule constraints, are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references. Please advise if the requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-type product. A commercial item is defined in Internet "Note A".
