This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). Statement of Work Deliver to Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC) one (1) electric Box Furnace with highly uniform temperature control to a maximum temperature of 1,1000C. The interior working dimension (uniform temperature volume) shall be at least 60" wide, 48" high, and 60" deep. GSFC expects that the actual interior dimensions would be approximately 12" larger in width and depth and 24" larger in height than the working dimensions. The Box Furnace shall have a hearth with dimensions 60" wide by 60" deep. The hearth shall be capable of withstanding about 2500 lbs., and the hearth height shall be 32" above the floor. The case shall be atmosphere tight and shall be fitted for inert atmosphere blanketing protection of the work piece. The furnace shall have a door that opens vertically upwards. GSFC expects that the Furnace will consume approximately 155 kW of power. The power configuration shall be 480 Volts, 3-phase, 60 Hz. Control voltage shall be 120 VAC, derived by step-down transformer from the 480 VAC. The Box Furnace shall have a multi-zone digital temperature controller with at least eight (8) zones of control. There shall be a separate high limit digital controller. Temperature uniformity shall be within 150C at temperatures above 6000C. Temperature uniformity shall be within 1100C at temperatures below 6000C. Further specifications and performance requirements are contained in the attached file RFQ5-57805-202SPECS. The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-17. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 3567 and 500 employees, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement.
