HQ AMC approved purchase of TCS2538D, Thermal Cleaning System; TCS25633, Head Basket; TCS24173, Special Thermal Gre. The Sunnen system incorporates the use of a specific after burner which meets clean air requirements. This system fulfills requirement at the auto skills center for cleaning auto parts and eliminates the disposal and cost of hazardous waste generated in present cleaning method. Sunnen Thermal Parts Washer works by "baking off" the grime in a special rotisserie oven. All parts are thermally cleaned and evenly dried, no wet or hot spots. Exhaust cross-over passages and water jacket areas come completely clean. Oil, grease, rust and calcium deposits turn to ash. The balanced multiple impeller system cleans down to bare metal, eliminating the need for most hand labor. Two to 10 minutes of shot blasting removes the ash. All ash is collected into the easy-to-clean vacuum filter system. Recycles loose shot and cools the parts. After the parts are deposited into the unit, they are rotated and tilted at the same time in the "X" and "Y" axes. Clean components are cooled down, ready for machine work. Total time for baking, shot blasting and shaking is approximately 55 minutes. Sunnen is the only company with an after burner that does not require daily burn flame adjustment.
