The National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA), Bethesda, MD. is announcing this competitive Broad Agency Announcement for research and development to support the Geospatial Intelligence Information Visualization Program (GI2VIS). This BAA will be available on or about 07 June 2000 at http://164.214.2.59/poc/contracts/contracts.html. The NIMA website will be used to publish all BAA documents, schedules, notices and will provide a questions and answer forum between offerors and the Contracting Officer. This effort is for basic or applied research to dramatically improve the visualization of national-level foreign intelligence information. The proposal submission process will be accomplished in two stages. First, white papers are sought from prospective proposers. Based on the evaluation of the white papers, NIMA will issue "advisory" notification to each respondent that it will be invited to submit a more detailed proposal or, based on information submitted, it is unlikely to be a viable competitor. NIMA will advise respondents not considered to be viable competitors of the general basis for that opinion. All respondents, notwithstanding, may participate in the resultant BAA. In conjunction with the above mentioned web site, this announcement represents the totality of available information regarding this acquisition. Revisions to the BAA will not be published in the CBD, therefore, interested parties should stay apprised of this solicitation, including revision information and answers to submitted questions, by checking the NIMA/PC public web-site above. To encourage teaming and sub-contract arrangements, a "bidders' mailing list" will be maintained on the NIMA website.
