The work will include the fluid management of cyanide heap leach process solution and evaporation of process solutions. Other work will include the review of all existing site information and the collection of any necessary additional field data for the design of the closure of the heap leach facility. The contractor shall design a closure proposal for the heap leach facility and complete the modeling to demonstrate that the water of the State would not be degraded per NAC 445A.430. The contractor shall complete a final design with construction specifications and drawings. The Griffon Mine is located on the Ely Ranger District, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. To access the project site, take US Hwy 6 west of Ely, Nevada for approx. 27 miles. Turn right onto County Road 10 (Ellison Creek Road) and travel approx. 14 miles to intersection with County Road 1163. Turn left on County Road 1163 and travel approx. 2 miles. Turn right onto Forest Road 406 and travel approx. 2.5 miles to the mine. This site isunder an access closure due to safety considerations. The one and only preproposal meeting is scheduled for 6/28/00. There will be no other opportunities to visit the site. All interested parties shall meet at the County Road 10 (Ellison Creek Road) turnoff on US Highway 6. Meet at 10:00 a.m. Est. start date is 7/25/00 with 90 calendar days for completion.
